I was just trying to make SOME semblance of the nonsense. Don't just all over MY Back! The explanation makes sense though, according to logic. 04/06/89 15:19 FLAPJACK Flapjack Hmmm... Never could understand why you guys take religion so seriously... I mean, just really LOOK at it for a moment. Rather silly, no? Anyway, for once I agree with Ion's side... 04/06/89 17:14 SYSOP Slur Ion logic is illogical...... its useful...but limited...as are any axiomatic systems....thinking is not just a bad habit for some of us...its a obsession....to a flaw....Sir Ion 04/07/89 03:11 TALON S'Talon I think I'm beginning to agree with what Robert Adams writes about Christianity in his SF novels. FE, the way you talk about the Creator, you make him sound like an Ehleenee, and all of its followers Ehleenee, I'm sorry but my Higher Power is no hypocrite, who does one thing and preaches another (like kills without mercy for no reason other than whim- unlike true warriors who face their opponents in honest combat for honourable reasons- then tells people that they can't kill even in self-defense, I'm sorry but the God you worship FE, stinks of Corruption and your clerics are Ravers. Your version of Christianity has led more humans to their ruins than all of the wars of man together. The Creator put us here for a purpose. To guard and caretake the Earth. Do ye thumpers do that. How many times, do yonder thumpers litter, and support things like Apartheid (and use communist insrugencies as an excuse), and support wasteful systems that are destroying our envioronment, becasue your Raver preachers tell you to buy milk from a Christian cow. How many times, do ye thumpers murder, or censor out of intolerance, or ban knowledge becuase you don't agree with it. You cry for the unborn children (an honourable goal in itself), but how much do you cry for mother earth, or do something to stop the ozone depradation, or help the poor (giving to a devil of a minister does not count either). By your little actions (like throwing trash out of a car), you are killing the Creation. And you decry people who try and save the envioronment and the wildlife by calling them "secular humanists", or "misguided youth". Ye claim socialism or any other form of social eqwuality is evil. I find that the thumper god is not the Creator that our ancestors worship, nor even His agents or one of his many facets as many of the mythologies present, but they worship first power, than money. And making either your higher power is the same as worshipping Ahriman, Foul, Satan, Corruption, Maya, as the worship of personal power and materialism stinks of Corruption itself, ye thumpers who claim to worship the Creator, abandon ye selfish ways, and serve the Creator by tending his Creation® -S'Talon P.S. Sorry about the long post, but FEs tirades get old after a while, especially when you have seen her evolution. Also the evolution of the other thumpers. P.P.S. And the reason I know what her religon is really all about as I used to be in it, and becuase I thinked for myself, they "encouraged" me to leave. 04/07/89 TALON S'Talon I wonder if FE prostelyzes becuase she has such low self-esteem that she has to do what her Fosterite preacher tells her to do. It has been a proven fact that low self-esteem is one of the greatest sins. We should take pride in being human, as the Creator created us as caretakers and guardians of Earth, as such we have a special purpose top to fulfill. You ever notice how the Fosterites twist the Bible around to fit their own perveted and sick emotional behavior. Oh well, enough writing of FEs inventory, I should be working on my own. One Day at a Time S'Talon 04/08/89 02:02 IRONMAN ironman ahem......well, once again, S'Talon you know that is not true. I don't know the particulars, but I imagine YOU "encouraged" YOURSELF to leave. I imagine that "they" encouraged you in the opposite direction. Recommendation: Run a printout of several of your last posts, S'Talon. Read them. Need I say more? I think not, as I know you're an intelligent person. I said something to you a long time ago, that is: Open up your hand, man, when it's closed it makes a FIST. That makes it hard for others to shake your hand, bud. And, irregardless of your last posts, there are those who WANT to shake your hand® And I think you know it® No, I take that back® I KNOW you know it® Let 'em. 04/08/89 22:46 PALADIN Neural Mass Yaawwwnn....It's His game...His rules. 04/08/89 IRONMAN Ironman Sheesh, S'Talon, I think it's time for someone ( HINT HINT ) to definitely switch to a decaffinated coffee ! But what answers do we *really* have? Does He come to you at night and sit upon your bedside for a chat over tea? Can you get down and party with the Lord over a 6 pack? Can you ask Him advice on personal matters? Does he lead you on your spiritual path? And does he want a personal relationship with you? It seems to me that any God posessing true understanding, and being a personal and benevolant being would gladly come if invited for a chat over ale and bread... Or advise you in times of need...Or even come and hold you when it is needed. Is it not the ultimate high to party with God? It would seem to me that if God is truely a benevolent and personal loving being he would be more than happy to enjoy his creations with you, and are not all things his creations? Is not ale, marijuana, hashish, heroin, cocaine the creations of God? Are not simple pleasures, the joys of touch, sight, smell, taste, of holding a loved one, or making love with them his creations? Why would the creator want to supress his creations? I can not find reason... 05/03/89 07:59 MEDIC Medic Probable Perhaps because we were created for his sadistic amusement? 05/03/89 10:32 WITSL Fred Witsl Perhaps his creation was a mistake he is trying to forget and ignores it completely... 05/03/89 11:10 MARLO Marlin Sipe Reminds me of the song "In The Year 2525"... man coming along, evolving, progressing technologically, and finally god being fed up with it and "tearing it down and start again", except that it already happened and we're the 2nd time around. Interesting song, but I don't buy god. 05/04/89 01:16 GERBIL childhood trauma "and I asked this god a question and by way of firm reply he said 'I'm not the kind you have to wind up on sunday'" 05/04/89 09:09 MEDIC Medic Probable You don't buy God? You probably couldn't afford Him anyway... but, yeah, I agree with the message of that Zager and Evans (one hit wonders, D00D) song... the Romans were technologically more advanced than most of us think... they had computers and the whole works... but did they have BBS's? The decadence of their society might indicate so... 05/04/89 17:47 FIREESC Fire Escape A world without the potential for evil would be a world that disallowed free will choices. How can you choose between good and evil if evil doesn't exist? This is why there are potentially harmful things in the "creation" that God doesn't desire us to abuse. It's a matter of choosing between gratifying the desires of the flesh or crucifying them with Christ. It's a Choice, and one I am glad I was given! 05/04/89 18:50 HEADLESS Headless Chicken You know, Aristotle, the pagan dude that he was, had this idea about social ethics that, in a SUPER condensed form, says, if it feels good, do it, just not to an extream. When you look around you, this is how most people act; they are niether selfish, nor overly giving, niether concieted nor totally humble. I think the big "A" may have come pretty close on this one. 05/05/89 08:04 MEDIC Medic Probable Christianity seems so melodramatic... I mean, how many of you out there can really accept that there are true forces of "good" and "evil"? I'd say that everything's a shade of grey, and even then, who's to judge? 05/05/89 09:38 WITSL Fred Witsl A shade of gray? Possibly worse. Life is more like a deep fog, as you walk through it searching for some meaning, you stumble a lot. And you don't know why. Colors mean nothing and everything looks evil. 05/05/89 19:22 SYSOP Crawling Blackness fred.....stop taking ludes....(or drinking) or clean your contacts! evil...yes.....there is evil....there is good....actions are actions...... perceptions is good or evil....Sir Ion 05/08/89 08:10 MEDIC Medic Probable Perhaps you're right... let's put this in perspective... GOOD: Sir Ion EVIL: Medic Probable B') 05/08/89 14:08 WITSL Fred Witsl Maybe even good is actually evil. Some "Born Agains" believe that there are different stages in heaven for those who are "good" but not "great" but somewhere in the middle. Can "good" be absolute without degrees; or can there be good, and more good, and gooder, and..... Good: giving food to someone who has none. more good: taking him into your house for the rest of his life. gooder: setting up an IRA, buying a house, and giving him a wife and making sure he is happy for eternity. So is the idea of good, actually only a lesser degree of evil; making everything evil. Or is there varying degrees of good and only an absolute evil. Is there actually good and evil? I think the fog idea was pretty much the truth....
